Jack Li

Jack Li Commencing practice in 1990, Jack Li is the founding partner of Jin Mao Partners and holds the title of First-tier Lawyer. He served as the 30th President of Inter-Pacific Bar Association and became the first local Lawyer in Shanghai to hold a leadership position in a major international legal organization. In 2001, Jack was recognized as one of Shanghai's Top Ten Outstanding Youths and became one of the country's first batch of securities lawyers. He has also served as a committee member of the National Committee of the All-China Youth Federation, a member of the Administrative Reconsideration Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, and a member of the Legal Expert Group for Foreign Cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

Jack concurrently serves as an arbitrator for more than 50 domestic and international arbitration institutions, including the Asian International Arbitration Centre, China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, China Maritime Arbitration Commission, Guangzhou Arbitration Commission, Hainan International Arbitration Court, Shanghai International Arbitration Center, Shanghai Arbitration Commission etc.

Jack and his team possess substantial legal expertise in areas such as dispute resolution, arbitration, corporate governance of listed companies, cross-border investments, intellectual property, and capital markets. They also boast extensive practical experience in handling various cases. Throughout his practice, Mr. Li has provided legal services for numerous "firsts" in Shanghai and China, including the first batch of major international syndicated loans in Pudong New Area, large state-owned enterprise group financing projects, the first batch of RMB business for foreign banks, the issuance of RMB bonds by foreign legal person banks, the first batch of listed state-owned holding group projects, the Shanghai Disney financing projects, as well as significant investment projects such as the first case of foreign insurance institution acquiring Shanghai State-owned Property Insurance Co., Ltd., the first batch of large state-owned insurance group acquiring overseas high-quality assets, and the world's first Euro Yulan Bond, involving a cumulative investment and financing amount of up to RMB 600 billion. Several cases he presided over or participated in have been recognized as classic cases in the financial market. Jack has edited more than 30 books, including "Practical Guide to Capital Market Law," "Analysis of Classic Cases in Financial Markets," and the "Chinese Enterprises' Overseas Investment and Financing Series." He has also authored over 200 articles in both Chinese and English.

Takashi Koyama

Takashi Koyama, Counsel, Oh-Ebashi LPC and Partners, Tokyo, Japan.

Takashi is an attorney licensed both in Japan and the State of New York as well as a patent attorney in Japan. He has broad experience in intellectual property, cross-border transactions, export control and FDI issues, life science matters, and dispute resolution, including arbitration.

He previously worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, where he was involved in many FTA/EPA negotiations as well as multilateral negotiations, such as the WTO and WIPO. He was a negotiator for the intellectual property, investment and energy chapters in the EPA negotiations. He later served as the Director of the Intellectual Property Affairs Division of the Ministry and was the lead negotiator for intellectual property for the TPP, Japan-EU EPA, and RCEP negotiations as well as the Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Committee for the TPP11 (CPTPP) negotiations.

He is a member of the Free Trade Agreements Committee of the AIPPI. He is a part-time lecturer of Hitotsubashi University Graduate School of Law and Kobe University Law School. He published many articles and books including, “The Legal 500 Country Comparative Guides - Japan Investing In” (Co-author, 2024), A Detailed Explanation of Economic Partnership Agreements (Co-author, 2021), “Selected Intellectual Property Issues under the TPP and Japan-EU EPA” (2021), “The Existence of a ‘Dispute’ and the Prima Facie Test for a Tribunal to Have Jurisdiction (Achmea B.V. v. The Slovak Republic, UNCITRAL, PCA Case No. 2008-13” (2015).

Gao Zicheng

Zicheng GAO,male,born in February 1962,Doctor. Currently,he serves as National People's Congress deputy,member of the Constitution and Law Committee of the National People's Congress, President of the All China Lawyers Association, Vice-Chairman of the ICC China Commercial Law and Practice Commission, Vice-Chairman of the China Academy of Arbitration Law, arbitrator of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), and Supervisor for postgraduate students at the Lawyer College, Renmin University of China. Additionally, he holds the titles of visiting professor at both the Central University of Finance and Economics (CFEU), as well as an appointed professor at East China University of Political Science and Law. He has been awarded the National Outstanding Lawyer and other honors.
